New paper out - environmental history does not affect thermal plasticity

November 19, 2019

Check out our newest paper in Ecology and Evolution!  We used field transplants followed by laboratory studies of stress response in Ellisolandia elongata, a tidepool-dwelling red alga found along the rocky shores of the UK.  To our surprise, individuals from different tidal pools that are routinely exposed to different water temperatures at low tide did not show differences in their response to high temperatures, compared with individuals historically exposed to cooler water.
